Since early 2013, Shenzhen has successively held Shenzhen Gemdale Open WTA tournaments. This year, Gemdale Tennis Club will officially become one of the organizers to make these two international professional tennis tournaments as Shenzhen’s major sports events. The project of Gemdale Pingshan International Tennis Academy, which has been earlier initiated, will hold cooperation with international tennis schools to comprehensively cultivate China’s tennis talents at professional, amateur and educational levels. The “Grand Gemdale Love Foundation”, founded in 2011, has shaped a training team of 8 students from Gansu Province and is aiming to establish 3 more teams in order to fulfill a complete professional tennis training system within the next few years.

Referring to its business philosophy – “delivering the best performance and upholding business integrity” –, Grand Gemdale is determined to be China’s most valuable international tennis club and the main organizer of tennis tournaments to promote China’s development in tennis industry which finally actualizes the vision of “Tennis Changes Lives”

JC.FERRERO – EQUELITE

The JC Ferrero - Equelite Tennis Academy was founded by Antonio Martínez Cascales in 1995, continuing the work that he and a group of collaborators had been carrying on through a number of schools in the area since 1980. Between then and the mid-1990s, these schools were among the bests in Spain, being a center of training for young players, as they produced some of the national male and female champions. This work culminated in 1994 when the school of Círculo Agrícola Mercantil in Villena – founded in 1980 by Antonio Martínez Cascales – won a Spanish youth team championship. The team was led by the best under-14 in the world that year: Juan Carlos Ferrero. This was the main reason behind our decision to set up a training center for professional tennis players, specifically in order to facilitate those players (the winning team) to continue their careers without having to leave the area. What had been initiated in 1995 – a modest and small academy, with only a few tennis courts – is now becoming one of the best academies in the world. Humility, familiarity and daily constant work are the three virtues that had taken Juan Carlos Ferrero, along with his natural talent, to the top position of world tennis. Juan Carlos himself had been working with Equelite and his group since he was ten years old. Other players from the academy have also become great professionals, eg: David Ferrer, Nicolás Almagro, Santiago Ventura, Mariusz Fyrstenberg, María José Martínez, Marta Domachowska, Guillermo García-López, etc. Equally, we are very proud that champions such as Maria Sharapova, Justine Henin, or Dinara Safina have chosen our center for training certain times during the year.

In November 2013, Gemdale Corporation’s subsidiary, Grand Gemdale Tennis Club has officially signed a contract with the world-famous Tennis Academy in Spain Equelite-JC.Ferrero Sport Academy.

Equelite-JCFerrero Sport Academy will assign a professional team to be responsible for the academy’s overall operation and management. The international team will bring Spain’s successful training system as the international training platform for the students. The academy will provide students with exchanges of both Chinese and Spanish cultures, tailored career development plan, advanced professional training and combined learning of tennis and cultural courses. Juan Carlos Ferrero and Antonio Martinez Cascales are set to make professional training and competition plans for the students. They will be coming to the academy many times every single year to personally supervise all academy programs.
